Nuclear energy is nearly free of greenhouse emission. Also 30% of the EU energy is nuclear energy. So is it possible to get enough energy without nuclear energy and to reach the emission target at the same time?
When focussing on energy generated from RES on a long run, emission targets will be met without nuclear energy. However, nuclear energy production cannot be avoided in the transition phase when, at the same time, fossil fuel production from coal and gas cannot be an option as well.
